      Hi Jack,

      There are few theories about why we dream and what they mean.
      I remembered watching a TED talk about it:

      I like the theories about the fact that we dream to heal and solve problems.
      Which one is your favourite?

      I don’t think we really know *why* we dream. There are lots of theories from psychology, for example, to let us work out problems in a safe space, etc. I think dreaming is probably just a side effect of the neural processes that occur when our brain makes/stores memories which I think is done while we sleep. It’s not just humans that do it though, sometimes I watch my dog sleeping and it looks like she is dreaming about running and chasing things!
